This One's For The Robots ~ Sat, 15 Jan 2011 19:15:52 +0000

One of the people I provide hosting service to got screwed by dyndns.org. He was using them to manage his domain name, simpson.mine.nu, for free. Well, they decided to not only drop his domain name, but also his dyndns.org account altogether. In addition, it sounds like they now charge a fee for using "mine.nu" hosts. So he said "screw you guys," and registered mrfrosti.com with a proper registrar.

Dyndns.org has radically changed from when I first started using them about 10 years ago. You used to be able to have at least 5 free hosts. Now, you can only have 2. At least they grandfathered all of the old users so that I still have my 4, but I also can't create any new ones. It makes sense, they do need to make money to continue operation, but it used be a much more awesome service.

Anyway, Google, et al., this post is for you. May you associate the dead domain with the live one.
